Volunteer for sssm
When it comes to ministry here at South Side Student Min, we have a simple formula that we have seen work over and over and over again. Here it is. Ready?
A caring adult + a SSSM student = good stuff!
That’s it. It’s not magic, and it’s certainly not algebraic. We know that when a caring adult is involved in the life of SSSM students, good stuff happens. Will you consider being one of those caring adults? Our team would love to have you join us! We have three primary roles that allow for various levels of involvement: Small Groups leaders, weekend leaders, and special event leaders.

small group leaderEvery Sunday night, after the message, we split off into discussion groups that we like to call small groups. The small group leaders job is to both help apply the message that the teens just heard to their own life and also to be their groups main connection and contact at SSSM.
The small groups are the life-line of SSSM, and this position requires each leader to attend every Sunday Night. *Requirements: At least 21 years of age to lead or one years out of high school to assist. |
Weekend leaderSSSM's main gathering takes place over the weekend. Although there are already small group leaders in place, there are still many ways to serve.
Every teen needs a connection at SSSM, and even though leaders reach out, there are always teens who fall through the cracks. The weekend leader's responsibilities are to make sure every student checks in, new students are greeted and connected, and simply be with the students. The weekend leader can join a small group to sit and discuss with the teens. *Requirements: At least a freshman in college. |
special events leaderSSSM loves to have fun and get out of the four walls of the youth room. From scavenger hunts to video game nights, corn mazes to pool parties, we need help with chaperones and drivers.
Our events are scattered throughout the year and can best be tracked by following our social media accounts, the "Events" page on the website, and through the church's communications. |
