12/24/2019 1 Comment Advent 2019 - Day 24READ Romans 16.25-27 Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation about Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept silent for long ages but now revealed and made known through the prophetic Scriptures, according to the command of the eternal God to advance the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles— to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ—to him be the glory forever! Amen. Have you ever tried to solve a mystery? Maybe you were watching some crime show on TV, or you lost your keys, or maybe you tried to figure out where that last cookie went…
We all kind of love mysteries. Some more than others, but we all have this internal longing to know what the solution to the mystery is. For many, the waiting while sitting in an unsolved mystery is the worst part. God’s people had been waiting a really long time for Him to reveal the mystery to them. Who was the Messiah? When would He come? What would He be like? Jesus is the solution to the mystery. How can God love us? We rebel against Him constantly. Don’t we deserve death? Yes. But God’s great love for us is a mystery that is revealed through Jesus. REFLECT Take some time to thank God for allowing you to know the answer to His mystery. That He loves you more than you can imagine.
